Dr Kelechi Ugwunna
Optometrist at Optique Eyecare in Suva, Fiji
Dr Kelechi Ugwunna is a dedicated Optometrist who graduated at the top of his class from the Department of Optometry, Madonna University, Nigeria, in 2013. Driven by a commitment to patient-centered care, he built a diverse clinical background in both public and private sectors before relocating to the Fiji Islands.
A passionate advocate for the profession, Dr Kelechi was a foundational member of the Family of Optometric Mentors (FOM),which spearheads initiatives to elevate optometric standards across Nigeria. He participated in "train-the-trainer" programs that empowered clinicians at all stages of their careers. This background in mentorship fuels his personal philosophy of continuous self-improvement and clinical excellence.
Since joining Optique Eyecare, Fiji, in 2018, Dr Kelechi has remained focused on delivering high-quality eye care tailored to the wellbeing of his patients.
Outside of the clinic, he is an avid basketball player and a self-taught swimmer. He shares his life with his university sweetheart - also an Optometrist - and their three children.
