Lyn Simeon

Lyn Simeon is a trailblazing optical dispensing leader with over 50 years' experience elevating eyecare standards across Australia and was the 2026 recipient of the ODA National Medal for Optical Dispensing Excellence.
As Health Centre Manager at Teachers Health Fund in Parramatta, she manages eyecare, dental, and membership services, driving a "Heart Culture" of teamwork and outstanding patient care.
Her journey started in 1974 as a receptionist at OPSM Chatswood, qualifying as a licensed Optical Dispenser in 1979. She progressed through OPSM roles in Liverpool, Bankstown, Five Dock, and Wetherill Park as Manager and Staff Trainer. Highlights include national OPSM Customer Service Awards (2002–2003), Stockland Awards (2003–2007), and Local Business Awards for her Teachers Health team (2011, 2013, 2015, 2018, 2022, 2025). Qualifications feature a Diploma in Ophthalmic Practice Management and Monash University's Store Management Program.
A dedicated educator, Lyn trains staff, speaks at Department of Education conferences, and delivers free eye checks for asylum seekers, Westmead Children's Hospital, and scholarships. Serving as Chief Fire Warden, First Aid Officer, and Diversity Committee member, she prioritises safety and inclusion. Certifications cover team effectiveness, safe workplaces, projects, and staff development.
Lyn's personal feats—a 15-year Karate Black Belt, 14,000ft skydive, Bridge Climb, foster carer role, Justice of the Peace, and Fiji volunteering—fuel her strengths in communication, organisation, and motivation. She's the perfect speaker to inspire dispensers in refining skills and patient experiences.
