Optical Dispenser
20/20 Sight & Style Behavioural Optometrists", in Mornington for over 25 years now, can offer a Career with the perfect combination of Clinical Care, Fashion, Customer Service, technology advances and long-term prospects.
If you are keen to have a greater role in helping people achieve their best vision, we would love to have you join our Team. We typically have a staff of 7 & this role is to replace someone who is leaving us after 9 years service, so hours will be full-time (4 ½ days per week incl Sat morning).
Immediate start possible, but also an option to commence in January (after your Christmas break!)
How are we different to a Corporate Optical Store?
We are Independent, Australian-owned & Optometry-driven, so are not restricted to the more limited range of frames and lenses that many chain-stores supply. You also have a direct working relationship with your Employer, rather than answering to a Corporate Middle-Management structure.
We have a priority of offering what will be best for the Patient, not just what suits our bottom line. The role would also encompass one-on-onetime with supporting patients through some of their clinical needs, under the guidance of the Optometrist.
Who would I be working with?
Our two Optometrists have over 25 years experience each, and also have post-grad Qualifications in several specialty areas, so every day we have a wide variety of patients needing anything from standard glasses, to Contact Lenses, Vision Therapy or Para-Medical managements. Your day would have lots of variety!
Our current Front-of-House staff have great experience, varying from over 20 years in the Industry for one, 6 years for another two and others with between 1- 4 years with us, so working in a Team of 4-6 people on any given day would ensure you always have plenty of Support and Optical knowledge on hand.
Why would I be a great Candidate for this Role?
- You have experience in either Optics, Admin, Sales, Education or Psychology (or any combination!)
- Computer literacy, excellent organisational skills and a high level of efficiency are essential.
- Availability to work school holidays and normal business (not school) hours
- A passion about helping people achieve better lifestyles, work success or results at school
- A drive to further your Career
- A friendly, relaxed, open approach to people
There is also an option to pursue further education in para-Optometric fields, the cost of which would be included in your Salary Package. This is not compulsory however, and full training of how to fulfil your role will be provided on site.
What could I expect from the Role?
- A rewarding position, making a difference to our Community. We also offer Pensioner-subsidised glasses and are actively involved in recycling, & stock eco-friendly frames.
- Salary offered appropriate to level of experience and skills.
- Opportunity to up-skill via formalised qualifications if desired.
- Being part of a long-standing, well-respected Optical Business, with great support of and from our local Community.
Those interested in pursuing a rewarding career in this exciting and varied role should apply incl Cover Letter, full CV & written references if avail.
Only written applications will be accepted.
