Membership Terms and Conditions


Membership fees

Upon receipt of the Membership fee, you are registered as a Member of Optical Dispensers Australia (ODA) for the duration of the selected membership period. Membership fees are payable upon registration or renewal, with rates for the different types of membership approved by the Board of Directors. No concession rebate or discounts are available.

For existing and new Members, membership is calculated from the date of joining.
 

Changing membership details

Only the named Member or person authorised in writing by the named Member may request a change in membership details. This can be done in the Members account page on the website or by contacting ODA via email info@odamambers.com.au
 

Cancellation of membership

A Member may request to cancel their membership at any time in their account settings or by providing written notification to ODA: info@odamembers.com.au provided both the person making the request and the membership concerned can be positively verified. Please note that cancellations do not warrant refunds or reimbursements of any amount. By requesting a cancellation, your membership will remain active until the end of your current billing cycle. When the next payment is due, you will not be charged and your membership will be ended.

ODA reserves the right to cancel the membership at any time, should the Member act in a way that is not in-line with ODA objectives and valuesCode of Ethics and Conduct. If this should occur, the Member will be notified in writing and no refund will be payable.

 

Refund policy

ODA reserves the right to provide any refunds. Please note that payments including membership fees and webinar fees are non-refundable. Pro-rata refunds for membership are not available.

Security capabilities and policy for transmission of payment card details

All credit card transactions will be undertaken with best practice security. The ODA website does not capture or store credit card information. Payments will be processed using a secure electronic payment gateway.
 

Currency

Currency listed on the ODA website and currency of transaction is in Australian dollars and inclusive of GST.


Lapsing of membership

Any Member whose fee is overdue for more than fourteen (14) days will cease to be a Member of ODA and will not be entitled to access any benefits and entitlements of membership. When a Member renews their membership, full Members access will resume.
 

Membership verification

All Members will use their email address as a unique membership identifier. It is not possible to change the login email address.


Membership Benefits

ODA may alter the benefits outlined in the Membership Level Benefits for any reason throughout the duration of the membership period. If this should occur, the Member will be offered an alternative benefit of similar value or interest.


Member Code of Conduct

As a Member of ODA, you must subscribe to the ODA Code of Conduct, the guiding principles and objectives of which are:

  • Compliance, not only with the law, but with the minimum industry standards of conduct prescribed in this Code.

  • Accountability for any transgressions of this Code.

  • Promotion of an efficient, competitive and ethical Optical Dispensing Industry.

  • Providing your clients with the confidence that using an ODA Member ensures a high level of service and skill.

  • To act at all times with honesty, integrity and responsibility.

  • To engage in no practice which might tend to lower the standards applicable to the Optical Dispensing Industry.

  • To observe both the spirit and the letter of the relevant laws of the Commonwealth, States and Territories in which we operate.

  • To understand the principles of fair-trading legislation.

  • To bring any known breach of the Code by a Member to the attention of ODA without delay.

 

As an ODA Member you agree to:

  • Act at all times in a manner which is consistent with the good name, goodwill and reputation of ODA.

  • Maintain the confidentiality of any information disclosed to you by ODA under an obligation of confidence, or in circumstances where confidentiality was reasonably implied.

  • Not purport to represent ODA, when making public comment about your personal views.

  • Respect other members of ODA including being supportive and respectful when contributing to the online forum.

  • Ensure that if you are marketing any goods or services, you do not in any way imply that those goods or services were endorsed by or are being supplied directly by ODA.

  • Behave with fairness and courtesy towards ODA members and employees and not engage in any behaviour that is violent, threatening or abusive.

  • Only use the ODA logo in such ways outlined in the . The ODA logo must not be used in a way likely to damage or dishonour ODA.
     

Any breaches of this Code may be reviewed by the CEO in consultation with the Advisory Board and may, at the absolute discretion of ODA, result in the termination of your membership.


Voting rights

Membership of ODA does not give any Member rights under the ODA constitution. Members do not hold the right to vote in Advisory Board Meetings or at any General Meeting of ODA.
 

Privacy, Personal information use and disclosure

ODA complies with all relevant Commonwealth and State legislation governing its operations.
 

Personal information which we collect is used for the purpose of providing you with information about the range of membership services and benefits available. We may also use your personal information to keep you informed of the events which may be of interest to you, industry news and resources and to provide you with promotional and marketing material about our products and services.
 

To provide the range of membership services and benefits available to you, we may provide your membership details and information to our related entities and partners. By accepting membership of with us, you consent to this sharing of information.
