Optical Dispensers Australia (ODA) is proud to announce the launch of a new membership benefit — a Member Assistance Program (MAP), highlighting ODA’s commitment to promoting the health, well-being, and resilience of its members.

The new program provides confidential, professional support services designed to help members navigate personal and work-related challenges. Through the MAP, ODA Members that possess a current full membership, will have access to 24/7 counselling, mental health resources, and wellness tools — all at no cost.
“Providing benefits and support to our members is at the heart of everything we do,” said April Petrusma, CEO of ODA. “ODA’s new Member Assistance Program ensures our members have access to the support and resources they need to maintain balance and thrive both personally and professionally.”
The initiative aligns with the recent Mental Health First Aid Training ODA offered in Sydney and is part of a broader People and Wellness Strategy, which focuses on fostering a supportive industry culture, reducing stigma around mental health, and encouraging early intervention and self-care.
In addition to counselling and crisis support, the MAP includes online wellness education, and proactive outreach to ensure every member is aware of available services.
“We recognise that life’s challenges don’t stop in the workplace,” added Ms Petrusma. “By investing in our members wellness, we’re investing in a stronger, more compassionate profession.”
The MAP is available to all Full Members effective 1st November 2025. Details on how to access the program can be found in the Members Hub on the ODA website (member login required).
